How we raise money

There are a whole range of ways Concern Worldwide raises money to fund our life changing charity work overseas. From giving regular donations to taking part in challenging sponsored events, our generous supporters ensure we are able to transform the lives of millions of people every year.

How we raise money

Charity fundraising

We raise the majority of our income from members of the public. This money is raised through public appeals, online donations and from regular gifts by direct debit or standing order.

Concern is registered with the UK's charity regulator, the Fundraising Regulator.

Donations and events

Income also comes from business donations and sponsored fundraising events such as marathons, triathlons and trekking.

Major donors

Donations from private grant-making trusts, foundations and major donors are also a significant and growing source of income for us. To find out more or to sign up for one of our upcoming events visit the Get Involved section of this site.

Concern out and about

Our team of on-street fundraisers give people the opportunity to find out more about Concern and start a regular donation to support our work. Find out more about them.

Disasters Emergency Committee

Concern is a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee, which coordinates fundraising appeals for major disasters overseas. We receive an allocation of the total amount they raise.

Other funders

We also receive funding from organisations such as the UK’s Department for International Development, the Big Lottery Fund, the Asia Foundation and Guernsey Overseas Aid.

More details can be found in our latest Annual Report.
