Where we work
Our annual report
Join Team Concern Thursday 18 November 2021 and take on one of our FAST challenges.
Taking part in the FAST this year has never been more important. It could be the difference between life and death for some children.
The huge impact of local lockdowns, loss of casual work, price increases and ongoing disruption to humanitarian assistance make it even more difficult for the world's poorest to survive. Many families fear that hunger could be more deadly than the virus itself.
You can take part in our traditional food FAST by sacrificing food for a full 24-hours and raise money to save lives. Wherever you are, whoever you are, we will support you every step of the way to help make your FAST a success!
Are you up for the FAST challenge?
Hunger has a devastating impact on families, communities and countries – and Marin and her 12-month-old son live this reality on a daily basis.
I feel stressed because there is no food and I worry about what I can feed the baby with.
In August 2020, Marin took Peter to a local health clinic, supported by Concern. It was there that the Concern team discovered he weighed just a tiny six kilos – he was at least 2 kilos lighter than the recommended weight for a child his age.
Peter was malnourished and in danger.
After four weeks on a course of therapeutic food (Plumpy Nut), Peter’s weight increased and there was a real difference in him.
When Peter eats the Plumpy nut he is much better than before, and I wouldn’t know what to do if we didn’t receive this support.
You can help us make sure that mums and young children like Marin and Peter get the food, nutrition and healthcare they need to break the cycle of hunger and grow up strong and healthy.
We need your support to help more children like Peter. Just £60 could make all the difference, and could provide one week of life-saving therapeutic food for 5 malnourished children.
There has never been a more important time to take part in the FAST for families like this.
Contact our team online or call 0800 032 4001 for more information.
If you are FASTing from food then get permission from a parent or guardian, and a teacher in school.
If you have a medical condition, please choose another FAST challenge.
