Join Team Concern Thursday 18 November 2021 and take on one of our FAST challenges.
There has never been a more important time to take part in the FAST. For families already facing extreme poverty, Coronavirus is a crisis on top of a crisis.
So how can you help support families in the poorest communities around the world? You can take part in our traditional food FAST by sacrificing food for a full 24-hours and raise money to save lives. Wherever you are, whoever you are, we will support you every step of the way to help make your FAST a success!
Are you up for the FAST challenge?
Hunger has a devastating impact on families, communities and countries – and Jane and her 1 year old son live this reality this on a daily basis.
For families already facing extreme poverty, coronavirus is a crisis on top of a crisis. Hunger could become more deadly than the disease itself.
In March 2020 Jane attended a Concern Health clinic with Mark-Moses for a vaccination. It was there that the Concern team discovered he weighed 5.9 kg - at 10 months old he weighed the healthy weight of a 3 month old.
He was diagnosed with acute malnutrition.
After a one month course of therapeutic food, Mark- Moses’ weight increased to 6.9 kg, gaining a kilo.
Jane told us that:
His immunity has improved, he is now walking, standing up, has much more energy and is jumping around and smiling
By taking part in the Concern FAST, you can help us make sure that mums and young children like Jane and Mark-Moses get the food, nutrition and healthcare they need to recover from malnourishment and stay strong and healthy in the long term.
We need your support to help more children like Mark-Moses. Just £60 could make all the difference, and could provide one week of life-saving therapeutic food for 5 malnourished children.
There has never been a more important time to take part in the FAST for families like this.
Contact our team online or call 0800 032 4001 for more information.
FAST responsibly
If you are FASTing from food then get permission from a parent or guardian, and a teacher in school.
If you have a medical condition, please choose another FAST challenge.
