Food in a Fragile World appeal - Burundi

A garden to guard against malnutrition

Children in Burundi need your help this Christmas

The humanitarian situation in Burundi is deteriorating. Over three quarters of the population lives in poverty and over 1.7 million people do not have enough food. Insecurity has stretched healthcare services to its limits.

Our Food in a Fragile World appeal could help protect children like Edmond, pictured, in Burundi against malnutrition.

This Christmas, you could help provide a very poor family with a kitchen garden to grow their own nutritious food. Donate today and your gift will be doubled to help even more children and families living in poverty.

I wish to donate:

For three-year-old Edmond’s parents, Jeanette and Jean-Marie a gift from you this Christmas could mean a life without constant worry about how they’re going to feed their children. As Jean-Marie told us:

“Our situation is so bad, the boys have had to go to the health clinic to receive treatment [for malnutrition]. They are not in good health”

Despite working really hard, the family live in one of Burundi's poorest areas and struggle to eat once a day.

Please will you help by donating to our Food in a Fragile World appeal?
