Write the World 2014

Concern Worldwide invites your school, or class, to write a tribute to Nelson Mandela. This could be in the form of a story, poem, or newspaper article.

Nelson Mandela, former South African president, political prisoner and human rights campaigner was one of the most remarkable figures of the last century.

Millions of people around the world paid tribute to him when he died on 5 December 2013.

Write a tribute to Madiba

Concern invites your school or class to write a tribute to Nelson Mandela and to collect and exhibit your school work as a “Madiba memorial.”

Send your tributes

Then, post or email the best of the students' work to Concern, along with photographs of your Madiba memorial. We'll publish the best of the contributions in a book. This will then be presented to the South African Ambassador to Ireland. The book will be called “Write the World – Tribute to Nelson Mandela” and will be published before the end of the school year.
