Toni Collette: our global ambassador
Concern Worldwide is delighted to announce Toni Collette as our first official global ambassador. The highly acclaimed Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress will help us in our work with the world’s poorest people to transform their lives.
We’re excited that Toni has decided to join Concern because we know that she can make a huge impact. Our CEO, Dominic MacSorley welcomed the news. He said:
We are thrilled to welcome Toni Collette to the Concern Worldwide family as our first global ambassador. Toni is a perfect fit not only because she shares our commitment to making lasting change in the lives of the world’s poorest people, but because she is ‘one of us.’ If she weren’t one of the world’s greatest actresses, she would easily make a great aid worker because she is compassionate, hard-working, and driven to touch people’s lives.
Shining a light
As global ambassador, Toni will work to shine a light on the challenges facing the world’s poorest people. She will travel to our programmes to bring much-needed attention to the conditions of those living in extreme poverty, emergencies and areas of conflict.
Toni is no stranger to our work, having supported our global campaign to fight malnutrition and hunger in 2012.
Toni has also supported our Christmas gifts campaigns, helping us reach many new supporters over the past two years. On her appointment as global ambassador, Toni said:
I am deeply honoured to join Concern as their first global ambassador. I know I am becoming part of a global team of men and women committed to transforming care and empathy.
