World Hunger Day: how do we tackle the world’s biggest health problem?

Each day, 795 million people in the world go hungry.

Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined, making it the world’s biggest health problem.

World Hunger Day 2015

To raise awareness of this and other issues around hunger, World Hunger Day is held annually and this year falls on 28 May 2015.

At Concern Worldwide, we know that hunger affects everything for the world’s poorest people. We believe no one should have to live with hunger and the damage it causes. That’s why we're working for a world in which no one dies for want of enough nutritious food.

We are specialists in tackling hunger with the most vulnerable people in the world’s poorest places. For more than 40 years, we’ve been developing and delivering practical, intelligent, sustainable solutions that have transformed lives. We combine our expertise with local knowledge to help communities develop their own lasting solutions.

This infographic shows the scale of the issue and just some of the ways we tackled hunger in 2014 with the world’s poorest people.
