Statement on the situation in Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel

Concern’s vision is a world where no one lives in poverty, fear or oppression; a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Although Concern does not work in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel, we are deeply concerned by the escalation of violence and the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

Concern implores all parties to the conflict to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, humanitarian personnel and medical personnel and facilities, and guarantee immediate and safe access to humanitarian assistance.

We are closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon and are ready to scale-up our interventions, if needed.

Everything must be done to minimise the risks of violence spreading to other countries.

Now is the time for global leaders to prioritise the protection of civilians, uphold humanitarian principles and respect International humanitarian law.
