This report is the result of a unique partnership involving 14 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) providing cash-based interventions in response to famine and humanitarian emergency in South Central Somalia from September 2011 - March 2012.

This publication covers aid activities implemented with the financial assistance of several donors, including UNICEF, and contributions (through the Cash Consortium) from the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the European Commission Humanitarian Office (ECHO), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID). The ideas, opinions and comments herein are entirely the responsibility of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent or reflect the policies of any donors.
