To sign up simply complete the registration form on this webpage with as much detail as possible, including your full contact details and let us know if you are taking part as an individual or a group. Please also let us know if any children are taking part and their ages.
No, there is no fee to take part however we would ask that you try and fundraise the minimum amount of £100 per person or £200 per family.
Yes, we would love and encourage young people to get involved, but they will need a responsible adult (over 18) to register on their behalf and oversee the camp out.
After signing up, simply click the link to set up your own JustGiving page as part of our Camp out for Concern campaign page. All your donations will come directly to us, you don’t need to do anything else.
We suggest setting a minimum fundraising target of £100 per person (or £200 for a family) on your JustGiving page, but we ask that you raise all that you can. However, any donations at all will be very gratefully received and go towards supporting Concern’s life-changing programmes, providing food, clean water, education, and emergency support to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
If it's your first time fundraising, asking for donations can be daunting. But don't be scared, friends and family and colleagues will want to support you! Just explain what you're doing and why you're doing it, then ask family, friends and colleagues in person, via email, social media, what’s app groups. You will also receive a poster in your fundraising pack that you could put up in your workplace to let everyone know that you have taken on this challenge to support us. If you don't get any donations the first time, you can always ask again later and we will be by your side to offer support, advice and encouragement.
When you're talking about why you are fundraising, make sure you speak personally. People are chipping in, because this cause is important to you. Tell a personal story about why you've taken this incredible step to fundraise for us and take on this challenge. You could also share one of the stories or information on this webpage about why this cause is so important, such as the fact that currently, one in 67 people, or £123.2 million people of the world’s population are currently forcibly displaced and have nowhere safe to call home.
You can either add this directly to your online fundraiser yourself as an offline donation, so your other sponsors can see how well you are doing, or you can pay it straight in to our bank account here: Barclays Bank Plc., Sort Code 20-77-67, Account number 00279137. Please do not send cash in the post.
You can update your sponsors before and after the event by sharing photos and thoughts on how your night went.
All the money you have raised will go to Concern and we are so very grateful for your support.
There is no set date, but we would ask that you try and fundraise both before and after your challenge and share photos and updates to encourage donations. You can set your JustGiving page to close on a date of your choice, but we would suggest leaving it open for at least 4 weeks after your challenge for any last-minute donations.
Yes! As soon as you receive your first £10 to your JustGiving page, we will send you out a fundraising pack. NB Please make sure you give us enough time to post out your physical pack (10 working days) before you do your camp out. If you have less time or don’t need a pack posted out, you can download a fantastic range of resources to help you fundraise and enjoy your camp out here.
Yes! You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team. Fundraising together with family, friends or work colleagues can make the experience even more rewarding.
It’s totally up to you. Your back garden, beach, an activity centre or an official campsite, but please make sure if you aren’t staying at home that you have researched your location and booked in advance. In some areas of Northern Ireland or GB wild camping is still widely practiced, however the most important thing to remember is you must always have the permission of the landowner before pitching up and staying overnight. Please also ensure that you read our safety guide before your camp out.
Our challenges and events team are always on hand with guidance for all your fundraising activities.
