What do we mean when we talk about resilience?
Resilience is a word we use a lot at Concern, but what does it mean? In general terms, it is a characteristic that describes a person’s capacity to cope in difficult times. But in humanitarian aid and development work, the word ‘resilience’ is used in a very specific way to discuss a community’s response to disasters, shocks and stresses.

How communities are adapting to climate change together in Bangladesh
Parts of the world are feeling the effects of climate change dramatically more than others. One such country is Bangladesh. However, despite climate disasters ripping houses, livelihoods, and lives apart, communities in certain regions of the country are joining together, piecing back their lives and actively adapting to what is sadly now, the new normal.
