The BRCiS consortium works to create sustainable, community-led solutions that enhance long-term resilience and reduce dependency on emergency aid in Somalia. 

In Tonkolili District, Concern has significantly contributed to the development, and set the foundation for improved coordination and governance within the District Development Coordination Committee (DDCC) framework. 

The EAST Consortium aims to support over 430,000 individuals including 65,000 people living with disabilities across the four most conflict affect provinces of DR Congo.

In 2024, Concern supported 350 households to restore and diversify economic activities, improving their capacity to build more resilient livelihoods as part of the Irish Aid’s Chronic Humanitarian Crisis (CHC) funding stream.

“Surging Hope" is a photobook featuring the Zurich Flood Resilience Programme, highlighting the journey of resilience through challenges faced by the flood-prone communities in northern Bangladesh residing at the forefront of the climate crisis for generations.

Due to the scarcity of water and the vulnerable situation of IDPs in Northern Syria, Concern developed a long-term solution. 

Concern is working in Lake Chad Province with the aim to increase access to essential health, nutrition and water, hygeine and sanitation.

Flooding poses a major global threat, with recent research revealing that over 20% of the world’s population lives in areas at risk of a 1-in-100-year flood. This danger is most acute for low-income households, and cause some of the largest economic, social and humanitarian losses.

For several years Concern has engaged with universities in Ireland and abroad to work with Masters students as they expand their understanding of development and humanitarian issues, particularly as they research and write their Masters dissertation. This provides Masters students with the opportunity to gain an insight into Concern’s work and to access data for their research. 

This report presents the findings from in-depth research which evaluated the impact of Concern Worldwide's Graduation Programme in Malawi. To address some of the key challenges faced by people living in extreme poverty, the Graduation Programme seeks to simultaneously boost livelihoods and income, provide access to financial services, improve people’s self-confidence and tackle social exclusion.

Working to reduce preventable diseases and deaths among women, adolescent girls and children in Sierra Leone through improving Universal Health Care coverage.

The Yoti Yoti Programme is responding to increasing food and nutrition insecurity in Sierra Leone, the overall goal of the project is to increase vulnerable households’ resilience to food and nutrition insecurity by strengthening food systems in Tonkolili and Port Loko Districts in North West Sierra Leone. 

This research programme aims to investigate the impact of conflict on various elements of the food system.

€50,000 from funds received by Concern from the Irish public provided an immediate essential short-term solution to the blood shortage crisis in Sierra Leone potentially saving over 17,000 paediatric patients, or over 5,000 women’s lives.
