Act now and protect life-saving aid

The UK government is making the largest cuts to life-saving humanitarian aid in decades — and the world's most vulnerable people are paying the price.

  1. The UK has reduced the aid budget by 40%.

  2. That’s the aid that provides vaccines, clean water, healthcare, education and protection for people in extreme poverty.  It is the largest cut made by any G7 country, and it will drop the UK’s aid budget to the lowest it has been in over 25 years.

We know that life-saving humanitarian aid works.

The decisions made in Westminster affect real people, real lives

These cuts are not abstract numbers. They are deliberate decisions made in Westminster, and the consequences are already being felt around the world. At a time when global need is at record levels, aid cuts mean fewer people can access food, healthcare and emergency support.

We believe the UK must not turn its back on the world's most vulnerable people

Today, over 239 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance and protection. Conflict is at an all-time high and global hunger has increased dramatically over the last ten years.

The UK government's decision to slash its aid budget is one of the biggest retreats from humanitarian responsibility in a generation. It is the deepest cut made by any G7 country and has brought the UK's aid budget to its lowest in over 25 years. These cuts have put millions of lives at risk. We urge the government to reverse them, and to put the needs of those furthest behind at the front and centre of all efforts.
