Concern Worldwide (UK)’s Strategy 2026–2030
Our strategy

Our strategic plan is grounded in the belief that change happens when people are mobilised, resources are unlocked, power is influenced, and policy changed.
To reach our five-year ambition, we’ve set four connected goals. Each has clear targets for 2030 and key actions to make them happen. By engaging and inspiring people in the UK, we’ll build stronger public support for international development and create a community of informed, compassionate global citizens ready to act and demand change. With this support, we can influence decision-makers and policies to tackle the root causes of poverty and amplify the voices of those most affected. Greater public backing and policy shifts will unlock resources to respond quickly to emergencies and deliver lasting impact in fragile situations.
Why this strategy matters
We are facing a perfect storm of human-made crises - conflict, climate collapse, and eroding global solidarity. As needs escalate, the systems built to protect the most vulnerable are being dismantled. The cost of inaction is measured not just in lost progress, but in lost lives.
This strategy marks a decisive shift, crafted to navigate seismic geopolitical change, domestic pressures, and a rapidly evolving humanitarian landscape. It sets a bold course for the next five years, grounded in clear ambition and focused on delivering lasting impact.
How this strategy was developed
We’ve taken a careful and inclusive approach to developing our strategic plan. We reviewed our performance and analysed the environment we operate in, exploring different scenarios. We sought input from partners on the global context and our unique role, and engaged experts from various sectors to help us think big and imagine new possibilities. Throughout the process, our dedicated team worked hard to shape, challenge, and refine our priorities.
