Did you know someone who embodied the values of Concern, or supported our life saving work to end extreme poverty? Donating in their memory is an amazing way to celebrate a person’s life whilst making a huge difference to people living in extreme poverty.
If you have recently lost someone special, please accept our sincere condolences. We are incredibly grateful to you for considering us at this difficult time.

Keeping the memories alive with a memorial fund
A Memorial Fund is a special and simple way to celebrate your loved one's life with family and friends. It offers a central place to share memories, photos and videos, creating a lasting tribute for years to come. It can also help bring everyone together to fundraise and make a positive change in your loved one's name. Find out how you can create yours here.

Make a single or regular donation in memory
If you wish to make a single donation or set up a regular gift in their memory, you can do so here or get in touch with us to talk about your gift. You can also choose for this gift to be made on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.

Donations in lieu of flowers or hold a funeral collection
Many people choose to celebrate their loved one’s life by requesting donations instead of flowers at their funeral, memorial service or holding a collection. If this is something you are interested in hearing more about we are here to help in any way we can. Please get in touch and we will get back to you soon.
Here’s how your support makes a difference

Bella Nsabimana, 22, and her husband Egide Niyonkuru, 27, have two children, three-year-old Queen and baby Calvin. Two years ago, their family joined Concern’s Green Graduation programme for Burundi which helps people address barriers that keep them living in extreme poverty, such as food insecurity or social inequality.
Over a two-year period, Green Graduation participants attend technical and business skills training, and financial literacy training; they also get access to financial services such as Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs), as well as coaching and mentoring opportunities to improve their well-being and relationships with others.
Before taking part in the programme, Bella and Egide worked casual jobs farming and making bricks.
“There is a difference between then and now,” Bella says. “Before, it may happen that we spend the whole day without eating and even the night, but nowadays we have something to eat in the afternoon and evening.”
With the trainings the family received, Bella has begun earning an income by buying bananas in bulk and selling them at a profit, while her husband has started a hair salon. With their savings, the family has been able to repair their home and purchase livestock.
“In the past time, I used to live in the very poorest conditions, because I used to live in a house where I couldn’t sleep during the night when it rained. Now you can see I have a beautiful house I’m living in,” Bella says. “Before I didn’t have cattle, now you know I have hens, goats, even a cow. Now I am living a life that really makes me proud.”
