One Year of Hope: Concern’s first year in Yemen

1
In total 19.5 million people in Yemen are in dire need of humanitarian assistance and protection services.
After ten years of conflict, more than half of Yemen’s population needs humanitarian assistance. Over 5 million children under five require urgent treatment for acute malnutrition.

2
Concern began working in Yemen in December 2023 in response to the severe humanitarian crisis in the country.
Our first plan saw us implementing activity in health, nutrition and WASH. We started with one health facility and now we provide integrated health and nutrition services in six facilities.

3
By working closely with communities and building trust with local leaders, we're reaching families who might otherwise receive no assistance at all.
Every clinic that we support, thanks to the generosity of people like you, and every health volunteer we train, represents a commitment to stand with the people of Yemen when they need it most.
We have been able to work with the local communities:
- 17,615 people accessed healthcare
- 263 deliveries attended by skilled birth attendants
- 793 children received treatment for malnutrition
- 49 emergency toilets constructed
- 2 water supplies sources rehabilitated

Last week, I visited an internally displaced persons camp where Concern provides health and nutrition services. I met Asma's mother, displaced repeatedly since 2016. After being identified as severely malnourished, Asma was referred to our clinic. Today, she is receiving treatment and slowly recovering. This is only possible because of your support. Thank you.
