Single donation

Every pound you donate will go towards supporting Concern’s work in Turkey and Syria and wherever the need is greatest

A year after two huge earthquakes caused widespread devastation in Turkey (Türkiye) and Syria, the humanitarian need is still high.

More than nine million people were directly affected, with 16 million more indirectly affected by the disaster. Thousands of buildings, including hospitals and schools, collapsed and infrastructure was badly damaged.

People were left without shelter in freezing winter conditions, with growing humanitarian needs. Concern launched its response the next day, supplying blankets, heaters, food and water.

Over the last year, Concern has reached over 375,000 people with food, water, shelter, essential items, cash to buy what is most needed and psychosocial support.

These have been some of the strongest earthquakes in Turkey in 100 years and aftershocks have disrupted communications and electricity supplies, many people are too afraid to go inside, choosing to sleep in their cars instead
