Concern Worldwide (UK) announces new ambassador

Reporter and writer Jane Corbin has joined humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide (UK) as their newest ambassador.
An award-winning journalist, Corbin has covered human rights and humanitarian issues for more than three decades. As a senior correspondent for the BBC’s Panorama, she has become internationally recognised as an expert in current affairs and global conflict.
In her role as ambassador with Concern, Corbin will work with the charity to advocate for people living in some of the world’s most fragile communities, including Sudan and Haiti.
Jane Corbin, Concern Worldwide (UK) Ambassador, said: “I am excited to be an Ambassador for Concern Worldwide – a fantastic charity that reaches over 27 million people in 26 of the poorest countries of the world. Half these people are caught up in the sort of emergencies I have experienced in many years of global reporting – conflict, water shortages and health crises. I hope I can persuade even more people to donate to Concern, and get involved and make a real difference to so many lives.”
Sayyeda Salam, Executive Director at Concern (UK), said: “At a time when humanitarian crises around the globe are increasing, we are looking forward to working with Jane – who has long brought attention to global conflicts and the people who have been affected by them.”
Concern works in 26 countries across the world to end extreme poverty. The charity provides life-saving and life-changing support to communities who are most vulnerable to crises, from rapid emergency response to innovative long-term programming.
