Concern Worldwide announces radio presenter Ibe Sesay as ambassador

Radio presenter Ibe Sesay has officially been announced as an ambassador with humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide (UK).
Ibe currently presents the late afternoon drive time show every weekday on Q Radio in Northern Ireland and a slot on Sunday mornings. He has been on the airwaves for more than 15 years and is also a DJ and popular event host.
Ibe became involved with Concern in May 2024 when he visited the organisation’s health, nutrition and livelihoods programmes in Port Loko, Sierra Leone, as well as local communities supported by Concern.

Ibe spent some of his early childhood years in Freetown in Sierra Leone, and that is where close members of his family still live, including his aunt and some of his cousins. He said:
Growing up, my dad was always talking about Sierra Leone, so to have the chance to revisit where I used to live, and also to see the work that Concern Worldwide does, was incredible.
Concern is working with people all over the world who are living in really difficult situations and what they really want is to bring about lasting change – who doesn’t want to be part of that?

It’s a privilege to now be officially confirmed as an ambassador for Concern and to use this opportunity to highlight the remarkable work they do and the achievements of the communities they support.
In 2025, Ibe took part in the Mourne Seven Sevens mountain peak walk for Concern. He also supported the charity’s Camp Out for Concern challenge, which highlighted the experiences of more than 123 million people who have been forcibly displaced around the world.
Ibe joins the charity’s other ambassador, journalist Jane Corbin.
